Transcribe-O-Tron!

Thursday, December 8th, 2005

I’m using some spare time at work to approve more OhNoRobot transcriptions for that search engine dealy! Sorry I’ve been slacking in just about every aspect of this comic (there were about 200 transcriptions awaiting approval this morning). Special thanks to Carmichael Micaalus for making so many damned transcriptions. Seriously dude, get a job! Haha, but more seriously dude, thanks.

A New Year for New Yearin’

Monday, January 2nd, 2006

Wow, I am so sorry about the lack of news and comic updates. For the past month+, I’ve been incredibly sick with some flu or bronchitis or something; the doctor never did give me a very clear diagnosis, but there was vomiting and coughing, and an overall inability or desire to use a computer. I’m finally feeling better, practically a year later (well, technically, with it being 2006 now and everything- meh, you get the idea), and fully intend to get back to the grindstone. Again, sorry I didn’t let you know, but I’ve really barely been on a computer for several weeks now. Hope you all enjoyed your Christmases and Chanukahs and Kwanzaas and New Yearses!

Curse you, Geoffrey. Curse you a million gajillion times over.

House of Leaves is a strange book. For reals.

“Soy un pertador / I’m a loser baby / So why don’tcha kill me?” is a portion of the song “Loser” by Beck

I’m sorry I haven’t been making any comics again! I will tell you that I have a very good reason for this: I’m in the process of moving, and my new house is currently without Internet! I currently spend most of my free time huddled in a fetal position in the corner, mumbling to myself. I mean, what else are you going to do without Internet?

In all seriousness, once we get Comcast to transfer us over and get ahold of a cable modem and all that good stuff, I’ll be getting right back to the comic. Seriously!

Yes seriously!

Comcast is on their way!

Monday, January 23rd, 2006

If the confirmation call means anything (and it often doesn’t), Comcast will be stopping by today some time between 3PM and 5PM. Hopefully they’ll get our Internet fully armed and operational today, which would mean me maybe making a comic today or something!

Or maybe tomorrow if not today. But what I’m getting at here is, so

Comcast has been on their way!

I have Internets! I’m now caught up with the rest of the modern world again! I hope to get back to comics veeeeeeeery sooooooooon. Stay tuned!

You probably haven’t noticed, but I end a lot of my typed statements with “stay tuned”. I’m gonna try to stop doing that as soon as possible. Stay tuned.

please enjoy two hours of an hourly comic

Thursday, February 2nd, 2006

A little while ago (before the forums exploded), Jason Alderman informed us Orange Belt-type persons about a little game called the Hourly Comic. The gist of it is, you make a comic every hour you’re awake for one day detailing the events of the day. I decided to take a whack at it! … but I didn’t get it done. As I assumed would be the case, work just decided to get in the way, and I wasn’t able to draw any further. So I offer you my two entries of how my day started yesterday.

I am aware that today is a regular update day, and I will not slack in this regard. I’ll make the next Zelda Comic after work. For now, images showing off my messy hair will have to suffice.

“Oh, and one more thing…”

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

Actually, two more things. First off, did you see how Zelda Comic’s had a million hits? That’s… just too awesome for me to even comprehend. Thanks for continuing to read my little comic these past four years. I really mean that.

Also, if any of you are Dashboard users out there… Zelda Comic widget! Special thanks to Night Lord, who took the initiative to make this little doohickey for all to enjoy! Well, all the very small group of Mac folks reading my comic, but I still think it’s cool (If you’re not Mac-endowed, the site RSS feed will give you pretty much the same information, so you’re not completely missing out).

Memorial Day is time when we look back and reflect upon our nation’s glorious history of having barbecues

Monday, May 29th, 2006

Hooray, I’m out of school! That means maybe I can make a comic or two over the summer! In all (most) seriousness though, I do apologize for not having made a comic in the past month. I won’t try to make excuses; since today’s Memorial Day, I’ll be out of the house for most of it, but I plan to try to make a comic tonight if I can. Barring that, expect a comic by Friday (and I’ll change the graphic up top at some point to reflect a Monday & Friday schedule).

Taiyaki is delicious!

Wiki-scratch-a-pedia

Thursday, July 6th, 2006

I was just alerted to the fact that someone(s) has put together a Wikipedia entry on Zelda Comic! It looks like this is part of WikiProject Webcomics, a noble effort to amass information on just about every webcomic out there. It’s somewhat humbling seeing my little comic on such an esteemed page, but there are issues about. The information is not always accurate, there are numerous spelling and grammatical errors, and much of the article is strangely opinionated for an encyclopedia. I would go in and make changes myself, but as I recall, Wikipedia does not allow individuals to alter segments pertaining to themselves or their creations, so that’s where you all come in! Update my article! Right the wrongs! And go play outside afterward, you’re getting a little pale.

I know, this sounds like I’m just making you do work, but think of it this way: once the article has been cleaned up, it will be a worthy resource for others to learn more about the comic. When that happens, I’ll gladly add a link within the FAQ page, and you can feel a special swell of pride knowing that you helped contribute!
